Hiking, running, swimming every bit of Hong Kong

Author hkoutdooradventures

Iurgi /juːɡɪ/, Spanish (Basque) living in Hong Kong since 2004. My very first day here we hiked up to Lion Rock and since then I have been exploring all around Hong Kong, trail running, open water swimming, etc. Once I find really special places I like to show them to others. I love seeing the “I can’t believe this is HK” faces

D-Bay waterfalls

Discovery Bay has super accessible streams. Easy and cute with several extra fun spots around.

Ng Tung Chai waterfalls

Ng Tung Chai might be the most well-known waterfalls in Hong Kong. Hiking in the stream though, you “unlock” its beauty further.

Coasteering 101

A brief introduction to a really fun activity that you can do in Hong Kong, enjoying unusual landscapes.

Tai Shing Upper NW

I already wrote about the lower section of this stream. The upper is even more fun and difficult.

Tai Yuen (大圓) stream

A bit more complex but also very interesting stream going up the hills of Tai Mo Shan. Stairs-like falls included.

Grass Island coasteering

Grass Island is well-known for its gentle undulating paths surrounded by grass and cows. This time coasteering it.

Peng Chau

A tiny island with surprisingly cute beaches, short good coasteering, a small hill and some hiking paths.

Lotus Stream(蓮花石澗)

Remote waterfalls within a Vietnam war movie like jungle environment. Can be fun or can be bit nasty.

Sir Cecil’s stream

A good initiation stream hike conveniently located in Hong Kong island.
