Small hill with nice views, woods, bush walking paths and a small stream for a few hours of entertainment if you are in the area.

See full screen & the Garmin track.

I had seen a few people posting the views from the hill and there were a few paths already in openstreetmap. I had only time for a short outing before heading back to Central. So short check in trail running mode.

Ocean Park MTR station out and I jogged on the road to the stairs under the cable car.

First exit to the Sea Horse insignia.

Definitely you can not see it when you are within it.

I could see that some people hike all around the insignia and go up to the top of the hill after. Instead I decided to explore the paths on the West side (1:01). The initial section fully within the woods looked well hiked with tons of ribbons, some bush, some crouching down and even a roped section (1:28) in the only steep part. After checking the stairs down to the road (2:29) for another potential start/end point, I headed up to the top of the hill. In (2) the bush starts to get thicker. Not thorny, but not the most comfortable with my running shorts. I missed my hiking long pants there (4:09). Once on top of Brick Hill (3 – 4:47), the PMR station, I decided to

hike the steep path coming down from it towards the cable car path.

You can connect easy with the paths that come from the Insignia area and be really close again to the cable cars (5:23). From there I went up the hill again,

and stairs down, the usual path taken by hikers to the Hill.

Instead of continuing to the very bottom I checked the stream marked on the map (南朗西坑 Nam Long West creek) somewhere around here (5 – 5:32).

Way more fun than expected. It is really short, but it must look nice after some significant rain. Tiny gorge, a few waterfalls and just one pool included. Checking now I find this video from Meko, at 40:00 showing it at its max flow.

Once down the closest MTR station would be Wong Chuk Hang. In my case, as I mentioned, I just run to Central.

Everything you should know before stream hiking.
