Above the Instagramy fishing pool there is a small stream that has a couple of decent waterfalls after significant rain. One more in Maclehose 1.

As mentioned in the previous post, after checking Sheung Yiu Hang I headed down to the old fishing pool.

As usual, there were quite some people here taking pictures.

From Po Kwu Wan (Bay) to Po Kwu Hang (Creek) there is a short jog and start stream hiking in an easy flat section (9 on the map 0:09 in the video). I saw several 🦀 and others in the area. Good sign of cleanliness of the water. There are several small pools and waterfalls en route before you arrive at (10) bigger pool and a 6-7m high waterfall (0:50). I scrambled on its right side, within the woods. Beware of loose rocks & flimsy trees. Another pool and a 3-4m waterfall before arriving at the main wall in the stream (11). The stream bifurcates here. The main tributary is on the left side, up the almost vertical wall. This looks pretty in summer time. In late October it was almost dry. I continued on the right side initially, high scrambling and went back to the left side (2:10). Just almost immediately after you arrive at the exit to the nice hike path I mentioned before.

My recommendation would be to stop here. I continued up the stream (2:30). There are a few pools and at least one climbable 3m waterfall (2:58), but the vegetation is denser from the start, with lower water flow and eventually it got quite thorny (13). I had 40m of elevation gain still pending to the faint path up the hill. So I decided to turn back down to (12) and head to the last stream of the day: Nam Fung creek.

Everything you should know before stream hiking.
