Cute easy stream next to the city. It doesn’t have any spectacular waterfalls, but quite some smaller ones & a lot of pools & green areas.
- Beauty/fun: 5.5/10 a lot of pools, non specially deep, and quite some small waterfalls within cute woods with easy logistics.
- Difficulty (check this link if new here, this is not your standard HK hiking web): 4/10 if going uphill & getting wet. The scrambling was easy even going down, tons of flattish sections, no thorns. The hiking path is never far away in case of an emergency.

Ci Sha stream – 慈沙石澗. Its name comes from Ci 慈 of Temple Hill going down to Sha Tin. As mentioned in the previous post we hiked this stream after going up To Shek Hang & connecting with Sha Tin Pass road to make a loop. Pictures and video in that direction.
Once we arrived at the Sha Tin Pass we stopped for the WC and headed North direction. In no time, jogging, we were in a clear rock stairs path with the stream on our left. Tiny in the upper section. Therefore we entered on the stream further down, (8) on the map and 0:05 in the video.
The upper part is more green, but with no thorns. Lower with quite some pools and slider like waterfalls. There are several man made water structures and connections with the path around. At 2:48 (10 on the map) stairs up to the path for example. We continued up to the main dam (3:16 – 11) and from there connect with the concrete and go down to the Sha Tin Wai MTR.
