Minuscule creek with bad rocks and tons of super dense bushy section. A no go but for the most hardcore route checkers.
- Beauty/fun: 1.5/10 minuscule flow, super dense vegetation, I guess that it has no remarkable waterfalls even after heavy rain. Exclusively for the most hardcore “I want to see them all”.
- Difficulty (check this link if new here, this is not your standard HK hiking web): 7/10 even if the scrambling is never too high the quality of the rocks is bad, extremely bushy and slippery in quite some spots, complicated navigation even being so small.

I wanted to end up checking all the streams in the MacLehose Section 10 area. I saw that someone had marked this one on Openstreetmaps but I did not have any memory of it. I had all the morning free, so I decided to give it a try. I took the same bus to Tuen Mun as in the previous post (Kau Tsing Hang). You might have better options. Super fast for me. Walk a bit on the city and go up these stairs to the Girl scout old complex.
Video.
A pity that a place like that was abandoned that way… In any case, I did not see any way to go the stream from that side and I exited and found my way on the left side of the complex (0:24). The stream here did not have almost any water, as expected. Under the MacLehose catchtwater. A few man made big rock blocks, some bush and a tunnel (0:40) exactly under where this picture is taken.
On the map it looked that the stairs on the left where not heading in the correct direction and I pushed myself up (0:46) on the “stream” on the right. Eventually it did connect, as previous hikers avoid the lower stream with quite some bush and detoured on the left for a few meters and connect back again with the minuscule creek (0:58). I could see that there were a few ribbons. Some very old, but also a new set. How bad it could be? 😅 Very bad. In the lower section it was bushy, but not so bad. The rock quality was quite poor and I broke a few handholds while I was testing them before pulling myself up… Smooth slippery rocks that must be tricky in full wet conditions. Easy to break small trees…
When I arrived at (4) I saw that the vegetation was getting even denser. There was a kinda faint side path on the right side (1:55). It brought me to a semi slab and good quality walls area (3). I was very tempted just to scramble up and try to find my way to the path on the East side. But there were no ribbons whatsoever. And in the stream there were those really new green ones… OK… Go back again to the stream (2:19). Not a good idea… Soon I was in the middle of super dense vegetation that only got denser the higher I went. I could still see green ribbons (2:36 for example) and kind of intuit the path that the previous hiking group had taken. Eventually, I decided just to go up in the stream no matter what. I had my pruners, full cover gloves, patience and up. Scramble, open the way, scramble… Until the water disappeared around (5) and I headed South East direction. A bit of traversing (3:19), that you could avoid with some more hard bush walk, and connect with one of the clear sandy paths of the area. From there I would head to North Kau Keng Hang. A way better stream.
