Easy day out kayaking & coastal walking on the small islands in front of the Saikung main pier. Tons of sandy areas & almost no scrambling.

See full screen & the Garmin track.

Bus to Saikung main piers, walk on the promenade,

rent the kayak (a few companies there) and paddling time!

Our first stop was Yeung Chau.

It has sandy areas in both sides for easy landing and some rocky areas too. We found tons of kayaks hidden in the bushes in one side. A partly rehabilitated house (0:54) that a group uses to store their gear in the other (marked on the map).

Second stop in Pak Sha Chau (1:11). It can be quite crowded in summer good weather weekends.

It has a nice photogenic tombolo connecting with the East tiny island. On the West some rocky areas.

We did not go, but I have added Tai Tsan Chau sea pool with the purple marker.

Similar to those checked in Kau Sai Chau and other routes around.

Instead we went to the almost completely sandy Cham Tau Chau next (1:44).

Nothing relevant in this one.

We crossed to the North Eastern peninsula shoreline after. Several clubs (Outward Bound, Victoria Recreation Club) & expensive houses. Small islets and Lan Shek Pai mangroves on the Northern side.

And full loop back to the starting point for a short day out.

Everything you should know before kayaking and coasteering.
