I completely forgot to upload this route šŸ˜… Ngau Yee creek (ē‰›č€³ēŸ³å‘ = cow ear creek). Relatively low flow and not specially interesting.

See full screen & the Garmin track (going Hau Tong Kai down after).

July 2021. The climbing ladies were happy with checking new streams that I hadn’t been at. Therefore I brought them to this route that I had pending. Transportation is the same as for Fa Tam. Copy paste from that post.

You could arrive at the stream in different ways. The easiest might be by public transportation to Pak Tam Chung. Start walking on the family walk just above the bathrooms.

Connect with the concrete path (Yung Pak corridor) going towards Pak Tam village.

Once there the corridor continues North. Instead, here

you should turn East and a few meters later find the path getting close to the stream. There is a lower section of the stream up until here, also known as 龍坑 Lung Hang stream. Very flat. So usually we avoid it completely. Even that way the initial stream part is quite flat and you will be able to walk either in the path next to the stream or directly in.

Arrive at the fork (3 on the map) and this time take the right smaller tributary. It was significantly drier. Nevertheless, there are a few deep enough pools to cool down in.

All this area must look nice after some rain. Upper the vegetation gets a bit more dense. But not especially thorny or difficult to navigate. We did not need any pruners.

Some more cooling down before connecting with the main upper hiking paths. If you do this connecting with the aforementioned Hau Tong Kai do not follow our route. It is better to hike on the MacLehose & Cheung Sheung country trails, as explained on the map itself.

Everything you should know before stream hiking.
