An absolutely no go but for the most hardcore “I want to see them all” stream hikers. Cute jungle sections & waterfalls but super thorny.

See full screen & the Garmin track.

We were going to Tai Shing and at the very start heavy rain poured above us. Summer was worried about getting cold and decided to leave. Go with her back to the minibus stop and jog to a little stream that I had seen before and never checked.

Exactly in this horse shoe bend.

The first section has nothing remarkable. Very small falls and an old wall, I guess used for agricultural purposes long decades ago. Part of it with fallen trees (typhoon).

Right and left you have the road that connects here, with a tunnel to squat through.

Some old water handling structures, small waterfalls within the forest, and later a 3-meter waterfall. I climbed it on its left and once up…

A complete thorny mess. I had clothes to cover all my body and the pruners and decided to continue up for a little while.

Not far from the mess I found a really nice waterfall.

More perpendicular for the first meters but sloped upper. 10-15 meters total. It looked very climbable, but considering I could not see the top, being alone, without Five Tens nor a rope, I decided to play safe and scramble on the muddy right side using the trees around and go back to it approx mid way (pic above, looking down, you can’t see the first 2-3m perpendicular climb).

Moving forward there were further waterfalls with

small pools.

Cute but for the thorns.

Arriving at the connection with the hiking path.

The Upper starts to bifurcate fast and with little to no flow. So decided to head back home.

Update 2022: Angela named it Butterfly Garden Stream (蝴蝶園坑), which is not a bad name, considering that it is quite close to the Garden.
