Hiking, running, swimming every bit of Hong Kong

Author hkoutdooradventures

Iurgi /juːɡɪ/, Spanish (Basque) living in Hong Kong since 2004. My very first day here we hiked up to Lion Rock and since then I have been exploring all around Hong Kong, trail running, open water swimming, etc. Once I find really special places I like to show them to others. I love seeing the “I can’t believe this is HK” faces

Ma Shi Chau

Do you want to try “coasteering” in the most controlled easy way, starting to see the old geology of Hong Kong? Then this might be for you.

Hidden Dragons SK

In the same area of Flying Phoenix & Dragon streams you have these shorter streams. Picturesque in some areas and little hiked.

Tai Shing unnamed

An absolutely no go but for the most hardcore “I want to see them all” stream hikers. Cute jungle sections & waterfalls but super thorny.

Tso Shing Stream

Have you hiked Tai Shing too many times already or need an alternative due to heavy rain or crowds? This might be perfect for you.

Kau Keng W stream

Kau Keng West stream (九逕西坑) is a short nice stream above Tuen Mun. Good to combine with other routes in the area, too short by itself.

Mouse farm

Nice short stream just above the city, with a little messy entry/exit but tons of pools and waterfalls to enjoy after rainy days. Wong Chung‘s cousin.

Adventure Tech

Several people have asked me about them. So here a compilation of all the gadgets (& accessories) I bring to our outings and additional options.

South NinePin

Archways, tunnels, caves, clean water, fun scrambles, nice resting spots. And if you want more you can always try the rest of the islands 😉

Ting Kau streams

Ting Kau area has several streams. Shek Lung is the most famous, but is it the best? It would depend on the rain previous days and your preferences.
