A peculiar rock formation in the middle of nowhere. Not recommended but for avid hikers wanting to visit all Hong Kong.

See full screen & the Garmin track. Green line is this post after going to Lantau Pass cliffs.

As I mentioned in the previous post after going to Sky Window Tower & others around Lantau Pass I went on my own to this spot. Named rock in openstreetmaps in the middle of a hill that I had not hiked before and I had plenty of spare time.

I jogged down on the road from Ngong Ping. If you are heading expressly there you could stop at San Hoi Ting better and with a taxi you could even go down the small Sham Wat Road. Eventually, you will arrive at the right auxiliary road that government employees use for water structure maintenance.

Walk/jog for a little while and you will see the Tower in front of you.

Video starting from there.

Easy to follow up initially. There was a big patch of burned woods on the way up (0:25). As soon as I arrived at the bottom of the tower I was looking how to scramble it. At 0:44 I saw and opening. No ribbons nor other hiker marks, but with the rope and the Five Tens in the backpack I decided to give it a try. Relatively easy initially with good holds and even trees to help you up. Eventually, I needed to real scramble (1:12), even remove my backpack to get into a tight corridor and climb up to the top of the tower. Photoshphere from atop.

I checked a bit more and then I continued on the bushy path (2:34) up to the connection with the Ngong Ping 360 rescue trail. From there I jogged down to Tung Chung.

Another video going on the opposite direction so that you can have some more visual references.

At 3:37 arriving at the West Lotus Tower from the bushes up. You can see where people take the pics. In my case I scrambled up through the passageway under the rock where he is at 4:41. At 5:16 the aforementioned side super easy path to avoid the scrambling.

Everything you should know before scrambling.
