Better than expected traversing and scrambling spots mixed with more boring areas. The last chunk of the coast that I had pending in Lamma.

See full screen & Garmin track.

I had run around parts of this shoreline before and it didn’t look promising. Colin said that it was not bad, so finally we decided to give it a try.

Ferry from Central to Yung Shue Wan pier. Walk for a bit more than half an hour on concrete paths. Passing next to Wind Power Station, to almost Lo Tik Wan pier and start the coasteering.

Flattish and boring initial part. After this water tank the route

improves.

A potential exit just after the lighthouse. Some more scrambling and another one.

Just in front of the rock she was posing above, there were quite some trees down

and to avoid needing to wade around we went up to the concrete and down again. Very little after wade anyhow 😅

and first serious scrambling sections. We found ropes around, doable without them.

Eventually we arrived at a place that required a bouldering like climb movement. If you want to make it easy just jump to the water and come back up just a few meters after. If you want to try to climb, find the handhold on the red circle and pull yourself up. Depending how tall you are you would need to use a good foot hold under (what they did) to reach it or long step (what I did) from the opposite site. Someone spotting under highly recommended for those not used to climbing. The rock angle (slightly overhang) might be intimidating for them.

Just immediately Pak Kok Tsuen pier.

Houses and small little concrete constructions for a little while. Then nice rock formations, a nice sandy area,

and the “last” wet spot before arriving at the gentle slabs and the built area.

Curious place to have a Helipad.

A little wade, a bit more scrambling and once here your call.

Just end the coasteering crossing to the oposite site, or enjoy the last tricky traverse just meters later.

Mica gave up and jumped into the water (fully wet). Summer did her best to keep the friction in the tiny foot and finger holds and cross it dry. I did it too, a bit less gracefully, with a final jump and pull. Without her Evolv or my Five Tens, for sure we wouldn’t be able to do it.

Just after we arrived at the tiny pier where to clean our shoes. End up the day changing clothes in the public WC marked on the map & have lunch in the Spanish restaurant.

Everything you should know before coasteering.
